Black Tourmaline with Quartz and Feldspar

A rough specimen showing black tourmaline, quartz and feldspar together in the one piece, exactly as they formed. The feldspar makes up most of it, in a pale cream that carries a warm sand tone through the middle. Black tourmaline runs through the surface as fine dark needles, some scattered singly and some gathered into denser patches, and the quartz appears as small translucent points where a pocket has opened up.

The texture is jagged and deeply uneven, with hollows and stepped edges all over it. It's a solid, weighty piece, and it stands where you put it without rocking. It's a specimen to sit on a shelf or an altar and be looked at up close.

Size: 13cm by 8cm.

Care: Dust with a soft, dry cloth. It's rough, so mind your fingers along the sharper edges.
