A polished heart carved from banded onyx, 8cm across. The stone runs in flowing bands, so pale grey-blue and white follow the outer edge and a warm golden ochre sweeps through the middle, curving with the shape rather than sitting straight. The surface is smoothed and sealed, so the bands look almost wet, and the colour shifts as you turn it.
It's cut with a deep notch at the top and the point drawn out, and the back is flat, so it stands or lies steady on a shelf. A weighty little piece to hold as much as to display.
Condition: There are a few small, fine scratches on the back. They're only visible when it's turned over and don't show at all when it's on display, but I'd rather you knew.

Care: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. This banded material is softer than black onyx, so keep it away from household cleaners and prolonged water, and don't let it knock against other stones.
