Picasso Jasper Laughing Buddha

A laughing Buddha carved from natural Picasso jasper, sitting with a broad rounded belly, one hand resting on his knee and the other raised. The face is cut clearly, with wide eyes, a broad grin and the folds of the robe worked into the stone. The carving is heavier in the base, so he sits steady without rocking.

Picasso jasper is named for the way its markings fall across the surface, and this piece shows it well. Pale grey and soft green ground runs through with fine black veining, breaking and crossing over the robe and the belly. Every marking is in the stone itself, so no two pieces look alike.

Stone: Natural Picasso jasper.

Size: Approximately 5cm tall.

Care: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Keep it away from household cleaners and prolonged water.
