A long length of natural selenite, running narrow from end to end, with the fibrous grain carrying the whole way down it. Both ends are broken rather than cut, so the piece still holds the shape it came out of the ground in.
The stone is milky white, and the flat faces catch the light along the fibre lines. It's translucent enough to pass light through the thinner edges, so it lifts a little in a window or under a lamp. This one came out of the ground in East Sussex, so it hasn't travelled far to reach you.

Size: Approximately 40cm at the longest point and 30cm at the shortest.
Care: Keep it dry. Selenite is a form of gypsum, so water will pit and soften it, and it scratches easily. Dust with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from damp rooms.
